HUAWEI BUILDS ITS OWN BACKUP OS

Amid the current tensions between the US and tech giant Huawei, its mobile chief has confirmed the have developed a backup operating system which started back in 2012 for their phones, tablets, and computers in the situation Huawei is cut of the google android system.

We have prepared our own operating system, if it turns out we can no longer use these systems, we will be ready and have our plan B,” Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei’s consumer products division, said in an interview with German news outlet Die Welt.

The comments come as Huawei and its execs face a number of legal battles in the US amid the US-China trade war and US pressure on European allies not to use Huawei’s 5G technology in networks.

A Huawei spokesperson told the South China Morning Post the company doesn’t expect to use its backup systems and doesn’t want to either.
