The Samsung Dex ecosystem allows you to connect or transform your galaxy phone to a bigger screen to experience a more scaled version of your mobile experience using your android on the bigger interface with the ability to connect a mouse or keyboard. Samsung Dex is currently only available for Galaxy S10/S10+/S10e, Note9, Note 10, S9/S9+, S10 Series, S20 series Note8, S8/S8+, and Tab S4.
For a device like the Galaxy Note 8, S8/S8+, you will have to invest in a Dex station as it doesn’t come with similar ability in the Galaxy Note 9 or the S10 where you only need a USB C to HDMI adaptor or a USB C to HDMI cable to connect to an external monitor or TV for it to activate.
For a device like the Note 9 or the S10 series, it could serve as a keyboard or touchpad when connected to an external monitor/TV.
The Dex station comes a variety of connectivity options like with two USB 2.0 type-A ports, an HDMI output, an Ethernet port, and a USB type C port to charge the device while been docked. The Dex also has a built-in cooling fan solution to keep its temperature normal.
To use an external mouse or keyboard, it could be connected to the Dex station or the screen to be used. Better still you can use Bluetooth connection for both mouse and keyboard or either of them depending on your choice.
You can switch your audio sources either to use your phone speakers or the monitor (screen) speakers, you can use a multiple apps feature as the phone and virtually everything on your phone in a bigger way. Gaming with this feature is also good even though the graphics display is not that great and would need to be worked on by Samsung.
